Cabin Interior Ideas
Just recently picked up a Cigarette 24, and I need some ideas for the v berth area. Currently the boat has a polished wood floor, and painted bare fiberglass interior. I would like to spruce it up a little for the occasional overnight. I was thinking of adding a typical mattress cushion, but I'm not sure what to do with the walls and headliner. There is 12v power already run for lighting, etc.
Has anyone done anything similar? Any pics? Here is how it looks now http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink Thanks! |
Carpet?
You could carpet the walls and ceiling.

Carpet is an option, I would like to find some kind of foam to use as an insulator to keep the carpet or fabric smooth over the fiberglass. Where the deck rail and cleats fasten, there is also hardware that would need to be covered, but I think foam would take up the difference. What kind of adhesives are good in a marine environment? 3m Super 90?

You could build upholstered panels that fit in between the ribs so that the edges are still showing. It would break up the panels into smaller, easier to manage sizes and could look cool, kind of still showing off the structure and purpose of the boat.
