280 k-planes on 24' boat
i have a 24' excalibur with boat leveler 16"wide by 8"long tabs on my boat now , have noticed many similar hulls with 280 k-planes on them , primarily panteras and magnums, what would the pros and cons be from making the switch ? i run on lake erie in mostly rough water-

On my 24 BRT which was 6.5 beam I used the longest K-planes avail and mounted in and level NOT following deadrise . I have expermented a great deal and had them in all positions , in the pic you can see what I'm talking about . With them in this postions they act like a wheelie bar and truly add 3 ft to the boat

thanks--how far is your propshaft below bottom? does that boat have a pad or straight v?
|
Old school rocker bottom true V ( 24 Degree ) it did have a 4 inch wide 10 inch long delta shaped pad , not much of a pad .

I have twins and had chinewalk .Changed the props turn in and set the 28K planes slightly above level just like in the picture fixed that .24 * deadrise , 8' beam, 12" wide Delta V pad 3/4 ways to the bow..

I just changed my 17" dana tabs to 24". The boat feels much different. I haven't had enough time to get used to it yet. Only have run it in 2-3 footers. I know it will be much better when I get it in the rough stuff.
