Old Volvo Drive will not shift???

I have a customer that has a old volvo drive. I know NOTHING about them. I was told that there is a fork that often breaks in the back held on by 4 bolts. I removed that and it is fine. Is there anything else that could go wrong???

This will be a real memory test for me, hav'nt had one open for at least 20 years.

Is it stuck in gear? Is the input shaft and gears turning? If you turn the prop, can you see the clutch turning (with that rear cover off) ?

It is not stuck in gear. If you move the shift lever all on the outside seems to move easy. I have not looked at the inside. I guess it will have to waite till I get back from Cali.

the shifter linkage connects to a winged ( only way i can think of descibing it) shaft that goes into the housing.. on that winged shifter shaft is the shift shoe... which throws a sliding brass clutch up or down (up for reverse ) don't know that is is the problem but the shoe may be too worn or broken...
