Trick Flow Heads
Has anyone used trick flow cylinder heads on 502 Gen6?
|
I looked at them before I rebuilt my GM Large Oval heads. They looked like good quallity. Most of the Guys here like the AFR's & Darts.
|
I run A460s On my Fords. :drink: They are a good mid-range head for big block Fords (25 y/o design) and of course have BBC exhaust.
@ .700" lift they flow 458 and 340 cfm respectively. Nothing like Profilers, C-460s and Thor heads which get better as you work your way up to the Thors. Not that I am helping you out much. :grinser010: . |
We used AFR cnc's on a 540 whipple build. AFR did offer a water passage coating to help eliminate corrosion if you use them in salt water. Edelbrock heads are what Mercury uses on their 600 and 700 sci motors. Thats what I was told by a Mercury rep when the motors were first released. They are both closed cooling so corrosion is not an issue. Its important to match the cam to the heads. Look at the flow numbers at the lift your cam is running. What they advertise, or lift at
.700" is great....if you are running a cam that large. Not many marine applications are. Also look at intake runner size. It effects throttle response, and over all preformance of the head. |
