Blue printing what??????? The hull or props???????

Blueprinting is also a term used in engine building in regards to eliminating any factory/production building discrepancies and working to more exact precise tolerances. In general this engine would perform better and last longer than a mass assembled engine.

If you are talking about engines. people put a lot of mystique into the idea of "blueprinting an engine" and it's really pretty basic. mainly amounts to measuring and machining to spec ,deck heights ,bore centers, crank centerline, lifter bores, piston to wall clearances, combustion chamber volumes, etc. it amounts to taking out the factory tolerances.for a more exacting precision engine build.

It is generally said hand in hand with the term balancing thus the term "balanced and blueprinted" when building an engine with equal specs. say all rod bearings set @ say 28 thousandths gap across all of the rod bearings journals or file fitting each ring gap @ say 38 thousandths etc. all specs. are kept in as close a range as can be achieved. plus what dog said above as well as balancing the rotating assembly which creates a much smoother running engine. and as Griff suggested this can be applied to props too.
