What needs to be done to Imco SC drives at 100 hrs??

Looking at a boat with 100 hrs, twin Ilmore 710's with SC drives. Used only on Havasu, owner says a lot of the hours are idling around the island and channel, probly by a little old lady on Sunday's. What will I be looking at with these drives in the future?

True about the idling around, teh channel etc.

but when you aren't you're probably nailing it.

X-Rated,
With any drive, you should change the fluid regularly and lookd for metal. The fuzz is an indication that things are loosening up.. The upper thrust washer in the pinion brearing stack, spins and gives off metal. The gears give off metal fuzz on breakin.. but should be long gone by 100hrs.
What you do want to look for is any chunks or flakes.. That indicates the gears are at the end of their life and metal is coming out of the surface of the teeth..
Or with XR upper gears if you find a large chunk (full tooth) the gears have failed...

I tell people to watch what shows up on the magnets.. that will tell you when you have a problem.

Hope that helps.
Dick
