Hatch Actuator
My power hatch actuator on my formula is getting really slow. Is possible to have the motor rebuilt? If so any suggestions in western michigan or chicago area?

I live in Ohio an last year I went to all the electric motor rebuild companys in dayton they all told me replacing is cheaper than fixing. SLOW MOTOR CHECK GROUND!

This will eliminate that slow hatch ram for good. I have installed a few and I can't say enough about them. They aren't cheap, but, they are worth every single penny. They use a standard Merc. trim pump. They also have a self contained unit. The other good thing is that the ram is very small and can fit in tight places. It you have a side by side setup and the engines are really close together, this may fit between the engines where an electric actuator won't fit. It is very fast, and very powerful. They have a couple of different lengths. Let me know if I can help.

1) As stated check all the connections ... 2) pull the lift off and Dissasemble and probably the screw mechanism needs regreased ...clean and repack with grease.. 3) Most lift setups run the lift thru the switch at the dash and there is a Voltage drop due to the length of the run and could be compounded by aging contacts in the switch ..the fix is a relay to eliminate the volltage drop.... m http://www.hardin-marine.com/detail~ID~1570.aspx |

Thanks for all the info guys.... I'm going to look into the ground first, if I'm lucky that might be it. If not then I'll look into the other option posted.

Add a box like offthefront says. The small wires dont carry enough current to run from the batteries, to the dash, and then back to the motor. Its a cheap fix, and works great. It will speed your hatch up.
