S/s Corsa Slant Tail Pipes

I HAVE A BAJA 25 OUTLAW w/ 496HO I WAS TOLD THAT MERCRUISER WOULD NOT WARRANTY IF WATER GOT IN TO MANIFOLD , HAS ANYONE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THIS I AM THINKING ABOUT INSTALLING THEM ?

I just pulled the Corsa Q&Q II mufflers off of my Boss 252. I'm putting Hardin Marine angle cut tips with internal flappers on. $138 for the new tips. I think it will be fine. The flappers should stop the water reversion problem, that's what they are there for. You probably won't get reversion anyway unless you have a real lumpy cam...

I've had Corsa tips on my (small block) boat for 5 or 6 years with no problem, but mine have the internal flappers and baffles, which may not be on yours. Call or e-mail Corsa; they will most likely tell you if there is a potential problem with your set-up.

I just had Corsa ss angle cut tips installed on my 272 Boss Baja and had the same concerns. I spoke to Dennis Hannes at Corsa ([email protected]) and he assured me that because there is a "carek" valve (or rubber internal flapper) built into the tips it prevents water from entering the manifolds/engine. My fellow Team Baja Marine members also recommend instead of coming to an abrupt stop and cutting the engines (when entering a no-wake area for example) cut back and then "pop" the throttle back again foward briefly to void backspash.
I'm launching May 3rd so I'll let you know more when I actually try this trick.
I can't wait to hear the "rumble of the 'ol 502 w/o the muffled tips. I have Capt. Call so if it gets to loud I can just "flip the switch"!

Steve, whats the thru hull fitting for between the tailpipes? Nice clean transom, looks good!

I tried the rubber flappers inside my tailpipes also, blew both of them out the first time I ran it. I use the salisbury type now that clamp on the ends. Kinda hard to do with the angle cut pipes thou. So might keep an eye on them.
