was wondering if anyone has a set of these..and how well they like them.and do you think they would work better than say a set of bennett twin rams.like there st12 http://www.starmarinedepot.com/Benne...port+Tabs.html i dont think i need to go all the way to k planes.any advice would be great. |
what kind of performace are we talking about with the outlaw, how much HP, SPEED, Water comditions? these are all things that you need to look at.

on a really calm day i have hit 63 on the gps.260 hp + or -.spend most of my time in or around sarasota bay.want to be able to spend more time in the gulf with out getting so beat up.

Tabs are not going to help a 20' all that much. They will help, keep the bow down, but thats about it. Any chop over 2' will still be rough.
|
For a 20' boat the bennet tabs should be fine. Like Griff says though, they're not going to help all that much.
Right now I have a set of single ram bennet tabs on my 32' Baja, and they're fine for the boat. You can tell that they have a little trouble handling the weight because they're cupped slightly, but these are single ram (I believe aluminum) plates on a 7200lb. boat. I'm taking them off to install the dual ram plates like you have pictured here. If you're interested I have an extra set of dual piston plates and/or my old setup that will be available in about a month. |
I have a set of the 12X16's. Plates hinges, hardware, and pistons. NO pump or switch if you are interested.

NOBODY LIKES THE EDDIE MARINE BETTER THAN THE BENNETT.sorry caps on.i thought the eddie marine which would give me 5 + in. more surface area per side would be a bigger help over all.plus they appear to be machined.and the rams arent made of plastic.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Trim-...ssoriesQ5fGear would these be over kill |
The EMI tabs are better, but are not really going to make a difference over the Bennets in ride quality.
|
K-planes are nice but they look like they where cut.

I have eddies on my boat that I just put on over the winter. I havent tried them on water yet. But they sure look good. I know alot of people have bennetts. I just don't like the look of the 12 ga stainless. Compared to the look of aluminum billet. I know it's just personal preference. I know they are cheaper also. Just my .02
