454 Mag Camshaft Question
I have a 1993 454 mag carb motor that I have to replace the cam due to a worn lobe. Motor is stock. Anyone have any good recommendations or just put a stock cam back in it. I plan on pulling the motor next winter and going thur it, just trying to get one more seaon out of it. Thank you

If a cam lobe went down, I would do a complete teardown. Metal shavings will be in the engine, just a matter of time before the bearings go. I would also replace the oil cooler you will never clean it completly out. Clean all the oil lines also. Sorry for the problem, we have all been there.

If you have stock exhaust, you are pretty much stuck using a stock cam or something very close. The stock specs are .510/.510,220/220, 115 lobe seperation.
