Mine F/A, butterfly and throttle body are full black rubber dust and rubber particles from the serpentine belt, that certainly cant be good for the FI system. K&N mine no perform any better or worse, but i'm sure it will keep the rubber out of my engine.

I ran the K&N filter last season, but switched back to the stock flame arrestor this season (picked up a used one on ebay). The first one was unable tlo be saved. Not sure if it was salt, but what ever was stuck in it was not coming out....

Sounds like you need to tighten you belt tensioner. You should not be seeing that much rubber......... My belt was slipping and causing the same problem, when I pulled my dead alternator out it was filled with rubber. This was my fault for not addressing it before........
