2.5 offshore 1994

Hello to everyone at offshoreonly.com
I recently purchase a 1994 2.5 offshore engine for my water ski racing boat all was great until it developed a miss above 4000rpm. Had a look under the cover nothing I could see. Next day tried again wouldn't idle properly or even get the boat off the plane, engine running super rich. Took it to a merc dealer ,mechanical electrical all ok, plugged the DDT into it ,motor running an s3000 ecu (A61) Said I would need a new computer.
Can I rechip the motor?
Does anyone have a copy of the 2.5 offshore chip on their computer I could download? I would be more than happy to send you a copy of my S3000 chip ,Mechanic said the rev limiter had been removed.
Boat has been out of action for 4weeks, Help!

Hey Ski Racer ,
I have two 1994 - 2.5 offshore , But they are carb motors not EFI. If you go online and check out Mercury parts Express they might have what your looking for. Hope this helps you. Good luck!:D :D

2.5 Offshore

Gassticks,
thanks for your reply. I tried merc express as you suggested but it looks like they could only supply a whole new ecu ,scary price once you double it to get to New Zealand dollars

Cheers
