Drives, Toe In or Toe Out (Again)
I've read a ton of articles and it seems that the rigging type of experts state that if spinning out to run toe out about 1/8" and if turning in to toe in 1/8"
I personally turn out and found my drives were toed in 3/8"; too much and opposite it appears. I had to machine a bushing in the tie bar to get the propshafts to come in at all. It seems like the manufacture just got what they could out of the tie bar setup and felt it was close enough It seems there are many variables that play into this but all I can tell you is that my drives props spin out and PSCL is 4-3/4" below the hull. Any educated suggestions here? I'm thinking toe out about an 1/8"... Thanks in advance, Dave |

Of course, nothing is ever that black and white with boats. There are too many variables. I experimented with my boat and ended up at 1/16" of toe-out with props spinning out. Here's Bob Teague's response to the question...
