Polish SS and Aluminum..
 

What's the best thing to use to clean, polish, and/or protect my aluminum valve covers and SS exhaust & flame arrestors? All this shiney **** is a pain in the butt!

I just used some Mother's "Billet polish" on my motor. It worked very well, better than regular Mothers.

Same here,,, the Mothers Billet,,, is a pain though,,, but shinny tips look so good !!!!!

Another thing I tryed recently was using acidic toilet bowl cleaner on my props. Family and performance boating mag recommended it in the curent issue. I tryed it yesterday at it is unbelievable. I used a sponge with an abrassive surface and this stuff made the props shine like new. If you do this use a resperator, goggles and gloves. It is very harsh stuff.

How you doing? You bought all that shiney stuff now you got to keep it up? I really feel sorry for you. LOL. I agree with the other guys. I use Mothers on all kinds of shiney stuff on the Motorcycle. The stuff works great on Aluminum, Stainless and chrome. It even polished some cadmimum plating to a chrome like surface, but you have to do it every few weeks to keep it that way. Say Hi to Wife and Kids.

Steve, I agree with the Mothers stuff. But on the stainless exhaust I was told by a prop guy once that good quality polished stainless steel does not need to be waxed or polished again if it is kept clean with plain Windex. I Windex mine every time I wash the boat and they stay looking great.

Eric, thanks for the info. The exhaust aren't too bad, it's these Teague valve covers and flame arrestor that really need a good cleaning. I'll run to the Harley shop and get some Mother's.
