get a bigger boat with bigger power , will be the best $$ you could spend... I almost found myself in the same situation, when started adding up the $$ of upgrades vs gains....not even close to worth spending the $$. I have 24ft Mach1 with a 270hp small block, started playing with props, and condemplating engine upgrades and really for what you will gain... is it really worth it??

So i just bought a Formula 311 with twin 468's... better $$ spent.:coolcowboy:

dont want a bigger boat ,mine is perfect size for the lakes i go on,fits in my barn perfect, is in beautiful shape. i dont want to gain 10 mph either, would be nice but that is not what i am lookin for. I just like tinkerin with it. If i gained 1 mph I would be happy. Would like a little more out of the hole. It seems to me every 1 mph you gain costs about 500 dollars. Right now I can go all weekend on 40 gallons of gas. Just want to play with the motor a little but dont want to get a bunch of parts on it eventually that wont work together well. Would like to find a nice performance package for the 350 mag

adding better exhaust system never hurts, but don,t expect noticable gain in power,it takes app 15 hp to gain 1 mph.do the math, you might see 2 mph, thats about 1000.dollars per each mph.

IMO, you should start by upgrading your cam and heads and intake. An intake here, exhaust there will do little to nothing. Everything needs to be matched or else your just wasting your time and money. What I'm trying to say is do it all at once. I've been building a BBC for my formula with the help of Bob Mandera and Dave at Wesco Racing. It will be done right the first time, even if it takes me a little while to get the right parts.

What would be cool in your boat is a 383 stroker. Nice thing with small blocks is that they are cheap to build. The factory vortec heads are best bang for your buck on your engine. I believe they're good for 30 hp, then have Bob make you a custom cam. I think someone on here had a set of stainless marine manifolds for sale, that would be a good choice.
