177 blower pulley question??

i went to put a pulley on my 177 blower and i slide the pulley on and theres a gap between the end of shaft and the end of pulley probably 1/2 inch is there a adapter that goes inside the pulley and bolts up to the shaft? I'll post some pictures later tonight , really need to get this thing goin now this!! I bought this setup and it came with no pulley just a fine thread bolt in the shaft not sure what was there before? also the pulley im refering to is the one on the blower itself.

anyone?

does it fit tight?

They may not have machinied the pully deep enough. I would find a stud and locktite it into the shaft, then use a hardened washer and a nylon locking nut to tighten it down or have a spacer machined to fit inside the pully with a lip on it instead uo using the washer.

you should have a thick washer with a sholder on it that fits into the pully..

that what i thought something to center pulley to shaft , otherwise its going to try to pull the shaft with a gap being there , cant find a breakdown of the front nose , holleys website shows nothing

Just put a thick washer on your pulley bolt with some blue locktight you will be good. Might be a good time to change the snout bearing on that blower, it appears its been in there a while. BTW, that is an automotive shaft (keyway, not splines)installed on a Merc blower, much better for pulley availibility.

tried that washer and bolt not going to work , im sure like mrfixxall said the bolt or washer with shoulder is the answer just need to find one

those blowers were made with at least 3 different lenth snouts and matching shafts, someone has switched the shaft in this one(as stated before) the shaft may be the wrong lenth for the snout on the blower, that would be my guess...some of the shafts are no longer made and must be custom made at a machine shop...just had a friend had to go thru it on a 98 525SC...Rob
