steering ram size question
 

how can i tell if i have a 9 inch or 7 inch steering ram cant find any part numbers , and when i turn the wheel to the right it hardly goes past center left is ok the instruction say to put the mounting bracket 17 3/4 from the side of gimbal for a 9 inch ram . it a used mayfair single ram system used thanks for the help;

Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the ram and the ram from the drive any you can then move the ram piston in and out freely. Pull the ram all the way out and measure how long it is. That is the stroke.

Keep in mind fluid will come out of the ram when you extend the piston, just a heads up

thats what i was thinking with it mounted it extends eight inches but has not been bled yet
