how much to build a 496 stroker?
 

if i have a 454 block and bare heads how much do you think it would cost in a ballpark figure to have some one build me a natural aspirated 496 stroker the most horespower and torque with pump gas from carb to pan. thanks

You will be looking at a minimum of 6K. I 'm just getting done with mine and a lot of my parts were found at a bargain.

what internals you going with?

I'm just finishing up my engine (a simple 427), which a lot of my parts I got a steal on and I'll still be way north of 7k. My goal was $4500.00 but when you start building a performance engine you'll soon see that almost everything will need to be replaced. I bet I have over a $1000 in just machine work on my block and balancing the assembly, another $3300 in the valve train plus everything else. Performance BBC's are not cheap when done right.
