Default New boat, flush questions

I just got my new boat and i am new to the salt water. i grew up on fresh water and i am wondering what i have to do to flush the engine/outdrive after use. i have a 454 MPI with a bravo out drive.

you need a pair of flushing muffs get tham at boaters world.. Hook em up make sure they are on good and start the engine. run until up to temp and then another 5 mins.

A lot of peopleuse a product like Salt-A-Way to neutralize the salt. Salt-A-Way sells a flush kit that has a hose connection so that you can rinse it with just water, let the thermostats open and then switch it over to the salt-away soap....

If you are on city water you can pretty much use any hose. If you are on a well, get the largest hose you can find because those engines use a lot of water, even at idle.
