water in Valve cover and Cylinder #1
I found milk in my valve cover and PVC tube off my air intake manifold. I pulled all the plugs and found water in cylinder 1. So whats it gonna be? Air intake manifold or head gasket. The engine actually sounded good but the oil level is up even though, no water shows on the dip stick. Gonna pull the air intake tomorrow. All accesories are new, Manifold, risers and headers. Head gaskets were done but not sent to machine shop. I did over heat early in the season...
thanks Dan |
Loone, did you overheat after all the work? If so I would think maybe a warped head. Need to pull and have them checked by a machine shop.
The oil level rising without water concerns me . does it smell strongly of fuel? Over rich fuel system can cause fuel to enter crankcase resulting in many bad scenario's |
Oil floats on top of water, most likely a head gasket and water is deep in the sump.

Every time I've ever seen this ,it makes a chocolate milk, nasty, dirty looking fluid all over everything mess. |
throwing this out there but how old are the heads?

Conclusion!!
IT was a broken Weld on a Heardin Cyclone Header that replaced my Gills. They were less than a year old.
Thanks for the feed back Dan |
I suspect the head is a bannana due to heat warping. I lost a hose to my sea pump 2 hrs after rebuild. Had to mill heads.
Good luck |
Repaired the header, replaced the intake manifold and all appears well. I check for water religiously and caught this early which is how I saved the engine.
Thanks for the feed back Danny |
