Stainless Marine Riser Help

Hi,

I purchased the SM Long Risers below used, and was wondering what the triangular brackets were for on the front? Has anybody seen these before?

It is used for you oil filter relocation. (Pic is when I first bought my boat, I cleaned the bilge up after pic :) )

Thanks makes sense. I guess I was thrown off because both risers had the brackets but they are supposed to be a set.
