Need help finding a new boat...
I have a 97 Velocity 280 and my wife absolutely hates it! I still want a performance boat but need more cockpit space. Looking for something in the 29'-33' range with more of a true V style hull. One of the biggest issues is how hard the Velocity rides with the pad bottom. Thanks guys!

I do not believe the the 31 Sonic or 32 AT will have any more cockpit space than his current 280 Velocity. They are much deeper and will ride much better though. The 33 Outlaw has a HUGE cockpit.

have you tryed differant props?? that could be the ticket:)
I spoke with Brett from BBlades and he seams to think that my boat will perform better all around with a bravoI prop. he says that it is more of a bow lifting prop opposed to the Hydro being more of a stern lifting prop. When talking to Mike Hall, he says that the Hydro is a better for the Velocity? hey fixxall, you post on yb.com? |
think you are in a tough spot...to keep a really performance boat and get those things in that lenth ???? if you can stand the perf loss montery and formula both make very nice comprise boats in th 29 area..been on the 290sc monteray very slick looking boat...roomy and your wife will love it....now you ?? good luck...

SR1 Formulas are a nice compromise. Traditional V, nice ride, big cabins, huge windscreens to block the wind, tall gunnals for added sense of security, lots of flat spaces in the cockpit to set items down, tons of little storage areas and cubbie holes to put stuff. And depending on model and power you'll still be mid 60-mid 70.

Unfortunately I am going to have to sacrifice speed for something with a little more room. My boat runs in the low 90's now. I don't know how i'm going to handle a 20-30 mph loss ..LOL!
