Bravo drive lube leak?

Hi

It appears that the outdrive (2007 Bravo One) is consuming oil. However, looking closer there is a plastic joint in the hose going from the drive lube monitor to the transom assembly. This plastic joint which a foot from the transom assembly is oily on the outside. Anyone experienced this kind of leak before? Or can the outdrive consume oil? Why is there a joint there?

Thanks

I assume the quick connect "joint" is there to facilitate easier engine removal. I just had one of mine come apart (08 Formula) and drain the reservoir into the bilge. Snapped the connection back together and all is well. Make sure it is latched properly.

I had a seal replaced on the inner transome assembly, i was leaking into the bildge as well, a 5 minute fix and a 50 cent gasket saved me a lot of cleaning every weekend!

Drives do not consume gear lube. If the level is dropping, there is a leak somewhere.

only if the leak is dry ( inside the boat ) if its outside...u will add water in to the res. where oil goes out water will go in ( ITS LIKE A PUMP ).
