Biggest cam/ Stainless Marine Std risers

What is the biggest cam some of you are running with the std length stainless marine Gen II riser? I've got a 234/242 duration w/114 lobe seperation.

The shop that was supposed to have the stainless to extend my exhaust didn't have it. Now I'm SOL..... Can I run this temporarily untill I can get the exhaust modified or is it a really stupid move?

nobody has an opinion on this?

U be fine with this cam, its calm compared to some others.
Also , it all depends on the down angle of the pipes..min. i like to see is 10*.

It has a lot to do with the drop in the tail pipes, idle rpm ect. The only whay to know is to try it. I would think the 114LC would help.

The drop in the tail pipes isn't much...... Maybe 5-6 inches total. How can/will I know if I'm getting reversion?

fbc25el 07-22-2010 09:02 AM

I would run it and get it good and warm and then let it idle for a bit and then pull the risers off. If its not good and warm condinsation can look like reversion.

Good Idea! So I basically want to see if there is water in the exhaust behind the exit. I'll do that! Thanks

Stainless Marine

I would run the Stainless Marine long, through transom risers that dump water right at the end of the riser. No worries there. Reversion is a killer.

I finally found a place that had the stainless that I need... I'm going to run the inner pipe so that it dumps the exhaust into the silent-thunder box which will extend the inner pipe at least 15 inches. With that I will be safe.
