warm motor boggs down...............
 

i have a 454 mercruiser in a 25ft formula and upon first taking off, [even on a warmed up engine] the engine bogs down, [almost to a halt]than i have to pull back on the throttle and toy with it a bit, than she'll start to pick up power and take off....than the rest of the time, she runs great.its only after its been sitting for a while....
im running on old gas but wondering if theres more to it..........any suggestions????????

Buddy of mine was having very similar symptons, it ended up being his electric fuel pump. It was getting weak and when the motor needed the most gas (on take off) it couldn't produce. There is a tool that merc dealers have that they can test it with. I'd look into a little.
