496 mag flywheel and crank seals
 

Hi

I am in the Uk and we supposidly have to purchase Mercruiser parts through Europe. The problem is that when they do not stock the parts which is more often than not, they tend to go on very long back orders ie 3 weeks +.

I'm just wondering if I could fit a 454 or 502 flywheel on my 496 as these are more common over here. Or is it possible to just get a ring gear as this is where the problem is and if so where would I get one?

I also have the same problem with the front and rear crank seals.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
