Bravo gear noise
I am hearing a clicking noise when advancing the throttle in neutral. Much like a manual car transmisson w/o engaing the clutch. Bravo 454 setup.
I recently replaced the exhaust manifolds and risers. When I re-installed the shift bracked it seemed to be a different fit than before, like this manifold was further forward and the cables are under tension. Never has made this noise before, but I have only owned the boat 3 weeks. The drive was in the trailer position, does this matter? LC |
yep itll make noise if not trimmed down an in the water

Never run the boat in the trailer position. What you were hearing was the U Joints banging.

Griff,
You mean engine running or into gear while drive is in trailer position. I was advancing throttle in neutral not in gear. LC |
On a Bravo drive the input shaft and U joints spin even in neutral. Lower the drive and try it again.
GF? |
Like was said, it doesn't matter if its in gear. The input shaft is still spinning when goes inside the drive. Basically the same as a manual transmission on a car with it in nuetral.

Thanks Griff and GF?
