Gil exhaust 525

Looks like my exhaust manifolds are shot, unless multiple plums of water coming out of the sides and filling my bilge full of water is normal. I need two new sets Gil manifolds(or pulloffs) for 525 sc motors (97 if it matters). Who has the best price on replacements?

Take them off and have them welded up,,also check around the freeze plugs,if you sont see any gring the area where the bubbles are and start from their..I have repaired several, unless their killed from salt water then i would start looking..

I just saw 4 of them on ebay for 500 bux but now their gone.

Does anyone have any experience with the cyclone shorty vs a stock gil exhaust? Do you know of anyone that has them in stock and ready to ship? Thank you!

A friend of mine just replaced his gil's with those,he waited 4 weeks to have them built..You still have to use the turburlators with them..He noticed no gains in mph with them..1999 fountain 38' with 500 hp's

4 weeks ouch! Hope he did not lose any time on the water. Thanks for the input.

For salt water use, I would just switch to complete Stainless Marine exhaust.
I saw no power gains switching from Gils to CMI's on my 525SC.

This may be a little late but, I have purchased several Cyclones and have found them to be very unreliable at the welds. I have had several leaks. I was told by Hardin that if you use your boat alot, consider Manifolds. I put between 150 and 200 hours a summer on them in salt water, so I am going with manifolds.

warm regards
Dan
