prototype custom boats???
 

A buddy just bought a 97 prototype custom boat in florida... anyone heard of said boat? I was told the guy from formula left on his own and tried to make a go of it. (boat resembles a fast tech hull)Any truth or info on this boat? Its a 28' with 540 stroker/dry exhaust etc.

I had a friend that had I think a 27 ft with a 500 hp and it was very fast for the HP.. It is more of a race boat than a pleasure/poker run boat.. The helm is cramped and if you are on the rear bench seat, your knees will touch the front seats. Think they made the compartment small to move driver weight back as far as possable.. The cudy cabin portion of the boat on the other hand is Enormous. Also the boat is very lite.VERY solid boat..

Here ya go, the company Brian bought was Prototype, the one he built for brian was questionable Quality, not sure of all others, but Brian(Joker) built boats were much better quality.

Joker Powerboats first began producing high performance boats back in 2000. Brian Hollis was an accomplished offshore powerboat racer and was destined to build his own brand of high performance offshore powerboats. After being a dealer for several boat companies, he always wanted to own his own boat company. Brian was boatless going into the 2000 race season and found a small company in Florida to build him a race boat. The owner of the company struggled to meet his expectations, so Brian bought the company and his dream had finally come true!

The guy t,ihat started prototype use to work for spectre powerboats Phil was his name.he delivered my first spectre and was telling me about his boat he was building,he also had a 26 cat he was working on,I was told he use to get the guys at spectre to come in at night a lay the glass was told he vacuum bagged.i heard they were good boats the hull has proven itself on the race coarse

I bought Prototype back in 2000 and changed the name to Joker Performance Boats. We're a small custom boat company and we've made many changes to make our boats comfortable and fast. Our race record speaks for itself , just ask Tyler or Warren.

Joker what was the the full name of the guy you bought the comp from...?Did he ever build any cats? If so what ones?

I bought the first Prototype 28 from a guy that I know. His name was Wayne Sullivan. Wayne and Phil went in together on the first boat. I had it for 5-6 years and sold it to a fellow in Louisville, KY. I like the boat alot. The way it is designed, it looks like a much bigger boat. Mine also had a 540 Merlin motor, which I built for the boat. I missed the boat, because no one could figure out who made it.

We're getting ready to build our 1st 28 w/ twin outboards. I have a great passion for our boats and I personally think it's the best 28 around. Since 2000 when I bought the company I have never taken a paycheck. Go figure!

There is a 28 Joker up on the Chesapeake Bay with a blown 598ci in it. Somewhere in the 1000hp range.

where is this boat being advertised at or in?

Joker ....you need to put more on your web site...would be nice to see some updates on new and ongoing things new pics etc ...love the 28 s would you be thinking about comeing out with any longer boats that look like the 28s ...

Yea we need to update the web site for sure. We're on FB under Epic Performance Yachts. Yes we'll have the new 38 pleasure deck done this year. Good things happening here at the shop. Working on an order now for 3 new boats. Thanks for the compliments on our boats!

Sweet ride you say that you owned it does that mean you sold it?... why and what do you have now .....i have a prototype also but i want to go to the upcomeing 38......So hury up Joker get rrrrrr done lol then give me a good deal....

I believe this is one of the first smaller hulls..?I was told they had v8's...I bought the boat in Hudson Florida..The vin# starts PRO...Help me out "JOKER" If this is one of yours.?:eekdrop:.I would be Syked!!!!

I just picked up a 2002 29'. pulled the 502 and redoing the whole thing. it is painted so I will be striping down to gel coat and redoing it. anyone else out there with one or a Joker. Ill be able to post pics soon.
