Looking at 27FT fever with a procharger
 

Im wanting to know if a EFI 502 mag with a pro charger will be reliable and not break all the time. I would like to know the life expectancy of this combo. It has a xr drive with a 4 blade prop. Trying to figure out if this is worth driving 22 HRS to go look at?

depends on the amount of boost, how long it's been on there(hours of run time) hard to tell....but going to be more prone to breaking than one without the blower for sure...

Friend bought a new boat in 2000 had m1 prochargers on it. He has run it hard. Motor now has 350+ hrs, still running strong.

I talked to the dealer again, the engine has 308 hrs on it not for sure how long the charger has been on it. He is going to scan the paper work from when the charger was put on and email it to me.

I'm curious as to how well the that boat would ride compared to the boat we have now? We now have a crownline 266 LTD. On are lake this size of a boat is more then adequate, but when we go to LOTO we get beat up pretty good. I know you have to have a 46' or a cruiser to handle the really nasty stuff.

I dont know about rough water ability on the crownline, but the fountain is going to be small in comparison to the crownline. The 27 fever is really more comparable to a 25ft boat.

I don't know what you can gather from the pic but the fountain is about 100 pounds heavier then the crownline. So you feel it will behave like a smaller boat. I was shooting for a ride closer to my buddies 26'-28' Hustler(I cant remember what it is exactly).

If a procharger set up is done right with fuel line upgrades and the pressure is set correctly it will work fine on a smaller boat. I think with this purchase you don't need to buy if you can'.t stand the thought of having to do some work on the motor. I installed a system and used it for 2 years and loved it. That motor and the procharger makes a nice package. If I was going to use one now I would eliminate the boost sensitive fuel pressure regulator and let an expert calibrate the ecm. No worries. Not so much "cant stand" I just like things that I don't have to work on all the time. If it comes down to having to do a rebuild im more then capable to do so. This would be the first forced induction boat, just needed some advice.

If you want something bigger and want a Fountain I would look for a 29. The 27 is not going to be any bigger than your Crown.

A 27 Fountain is still going to beat the crap out of you at LOTO. A 25 Outlaw is a bigger boat than a 27 Fountain. I certainly wouldn't drive 22hrs for one. There are plenty of boats for sale at LOTO that are priced right. Call Brett at Performance Boat Brokerage.
