Distributor cap part #
Need the part number for the 454-330 HP carb number in AC delco or the like with a rotor part number.
The automotive caps in the book dont match this thing Is it off a small block or is it marine specific? Just thought I could get the cap at NAPA or wherever instead of ordering it from somewhere engine is a 1990 454 Thanks Jason |
Also need oil filter numbers if anyone has them
What was the final outcome of the posts about what oil filter is good one to get and a crappy one? Last I remember was Fram was changed and the way they are being built now is way lower grade than most of them Anyone have any input? Thanks Jason |
Mercruiser Marine specific
Cap #805759T1 Rotor#13524t1 becareful when removing the screws in the distributor cap, they tend to seize and break if they have been on there for a while, use antisieze on them when reassembling |
Lee, Thanks !!!!
Now what about the Oil Filter on this thing? AC delco PF ??? (actually got a friend that works at a car dealer to get me the caps and rotors out of a auto catalogue) All brass no aluminum stuff too Thanks all Jason |

can you use a automotive distrbutor cap in a marine application?[and rotor?]
i just purchased a merc cap for $40.00, if yes do you know what i should ask for,i have 1993 merc 502 |
No I found out that the marine dist cap is different and sits different so no, not interchangeable with automotive caps
Make sure you get brass caps and rotors to prevent corrosion, will last a little bit longer Just bought 2 caps and rotors from Napa, and painted them magenta metal flake like the engines and accessories Got taylor wires, MSD hi vibe coils and NGK spark plugs Going to get this honey nice and hot Jason |
