have a code 44 (knock sensor) on a 2000 350 mpi. any ideas

its in on of the water plugs in the block,,take it out wire wheel it and clean the block and put it back in..it snot grounded properly and that will set the code..

funny u said that. I had noticed some corrosion around my sensor block. the rest of the engine is clean enough to eat on.
will be sanding and painting the block this weeknd. also doesthe sensor share the same block with a drain?

yes it does, look closly,,it may have salt water in it but not likely.
