winter storage ......gas question......

should i add any gas additive to store the boat for the winter????
and should i fill the tank to the top or it doesn't matter?????

lot of diffrent opinions on this. i run startron and stabil all season. last couple years i filled it up to 5 gallons or so from full. double treated it and no issues... was actually thinking about filling it with 100 octane avation fuel before lay up this year. either empty or full is the best bet from what i have heard... mark

O Man this a loaded question.... no one seems to have the perfect solution/answer.
I used to top off and treat the fuel for the layup of 7 mths. Now I run it down as far as possible and throw additive in on top. From what I have read and come to determine is that the cheap gas today will cause more harm, so a fresh tank to start out the season has worked out for me. JM$.02

Same here...run it down almost empty and add a little Sta-bil.

if you have alcohol enriched fuel leave as little in the tank as possible as that stuff breaks down quickly and there are some additives that are supposed to help..

F.Y.I. alot of marinas in Michigan where I boat on Lake St. Clair still have, and get pure gas ( no ethanol)

I was talking with a cheveron engineer yesterday about this crap fuel. He said best bet is to have the tanks empty.
