50 Amp Engine Circuit Breaker
The 50 amp main circuit breaker on my port engine has been "popping" off during cruising speed. There engine is running fine with normal readings on water, oil and amp readings. I was wondering if I should just change it out or look for a short somewhere. Has anybody experienced this problem. This is on a 2001 ELiminator 300 eagle with twin 500 EFI's.

Tom ,switch might be corroded from salt water creep and tripping off.Do check to see if you have a short first before you change it out...

Double check to make sure all harness connections are clean, and free of corrosion. A corroded connection can pull a huge amount of amps. If all looks good, and your grounds are clean as well, the circuit breaker itself may have simply gone bad.

thanks for the ideas. the boat has never been in salt water so i probably need to clean all exposed connections and see what happens. thanks for the advice.
