found issue now what

Ok pulled out the impeller housing and thats the problem. First because of this impeller being fried would that cause the temp gauge not to move. Second off how do i make sure all the gunk from the impeller isnt int he engine

Impeller issue probably independent of temp unless the needle was stuck way over on a hot temp. If the impeller is missing blades you had better start pulling and cleaning oil and power steering coolers to get the impeller pieces out. Good luck.....

Usually most of the impeller debris gets stuck in the coolers. If the pieces are small enough to make it thru the cooler tubes it can make it out the exhaust but not all the time especially if there's alot of it. The coolers will need to be back flushed with some pressure to unlodge the pieces. Make sure you find as much as possible by saving the old impeller and fitting the pieces back together as you find them. Not a fun job.

Like was said, the pieces of the impeller are most likely stuck in the front of the Oil/PS cooler. Pull the hoses and backflush the cooler.

If there is no water in the engine, the temp guage won't read anything even if its very hot.

Fix the impeller and repalce the housing and backflush and then go from there.

yeah it looks like a majority of the impeller is still in the housing at least the big peices. There was hardly any water up at the thermostat and I didnt see any black pecies up there. Right now trying to find an impeller to replace it, I have the old two peice housing. Trying to figure out if I need just the impeller or all the gaskets and impeller keys and so forth

You can either get the kit for a 2 piece housing # 47-59362Q 7
or convert it to a piece housing #46-807151A14.

I have had problem where the 1 piece housing will not work due to engine mounts and hose routing. The 1 piece housings are also plastic. The original 2 piece housings are metal and last much longer, but they are more difficult to install.

When installing the impeller in the housing, lube it with some liquid dish soap.
