MSD 6M-2 Ignition Box - Need help!
Guys,
I run a '98 272 Procharged (502) Baja. I bought this boat last year, just put it in the water two weeks ago and am experiencing the following problem. On initial slow throttle the engine "boggs" out, and then catches and goes like hell! In addition to this the engine exhaust produces excessive "soot" on the transom and also gray smoke. My fuel pressure is set at 40 psi at idle and approx. 52 wot. Brian Riley (a tech rep. at ATI) tells me that this can be eliminated by purchasing and installing a MSD 6M-2 ignition box. He also tells me that the fuel pressure needs to be dialed down to between 36-38 psi at idle and should be at 60 psi at wot (running 5 lbs of boost). Will this MSD ignition box solve the problems I mentioned? Help/ advice/ comments would be greatly appreciated. |
i ahev been told that MSD boxxes are basicallya must on antyblower motor over 550hp. I haev two if your interested 1 that is being used on my engine :D and one spare.

Yes on the blower moters its a must have I run 6 m2s with a 6 al as a back up. 2 509 keith eickerts with stage 3 prochargers very good all around but use all the msd stuff to go with it coil, dist, wires, they work very well together. good luck.
