CMI e top headers

just wonder what kind of max hp you can put through them ? providing they are the standard e tops with the 1 7/8 primary tubes. thanks

CMI claims up to 750hp. http://www.custommarine.com/headerapps/index.php

seems to me i have seen other blower motors with 900 + with them on .

Could be. The blower will build more boost pressure because the exhaust can't get out fast enough. I do think you'd make more power with lower boost pressures with some Big E tops or Sport Tubes. I'm sure Eddie Young will give you the straight scoop.

I have seen them on a quad rotor whippled 540 making 1000+

I have used them at over 1000 hp. They work just fine. Now, that's not to say that they don't cost you a little bit of power over a set of big tubes or big E Tops. However, you won't have any problem using them with 1000 hp.

That's what I thought, and was hoping to hear as well, because I am going to run my CMI etops on a new set of 1000sc's. Would they pull 30-50 more hp with some big tubes? Probably. Is it worth it? No. Not for my application. I really only wanted 850's, but realized pretty quickly that once you get into the build it doesn't cost much more to get the four digits. Motors are near completion at Ateco. Going to have Mefi-5 controllers with 1471 blowers and Eickert induction bonnets. Sort of a mix of old and new tech.
