525efi water temp and pressure

What temp does a 525efi normally run? It has a 165* t-stat right? My 525 was running a max of 147* according to my smartcraft gauge. All the other efi or mpi motors I've owned ran about 170* regardless of the temp of the water I'm boating in.

Also, I noticed at certain trim levels my water pressure gauge was pegged at 30 psi. Does this sound OK?

What lower unit are you running on your XR? LWP or DWP or High speed pick up thru hull? More info needed.

Also, what variation on temp do you have running from idle to normal cruise to WOT? Same ? for pressure.

I'm running DWP w/ITS. Once the motor warmed up it didn't vary in temp more than a few degrees across the rpm range.

As far as the pressure, it seemed to vary between 25 and 30 psi at speed.

This was my first outing in this boat. I don't really suspect any problems. Just trying to establish what is considered "normal".

could your thermostat be stuck open,,,causing it to run to cold,,,25 -30 water psi is what i get on my gage also

Yup, 30 Superboat.

I looked over some of my old scans from my 496HO and the water pressure seemed to peak at around 23 psi and the coolant temp was usually 160-165.

I'm also running a sea strainer if that matters. If the t-stat was stuck open, wouldn't it come up to temp eventually, particularly at high rpms?

It seems to run great, I'm just trying to figure out what to expect with this motor.
