hp500 gen 5 or gen 6 block

I have 98 25 outlaw that has a hp 500 in it. I do not know the year of the motor. The dealer said the motor was put in in 2008 and had around 30hrs on it. Im lookin to change heads and cam. Need to know what block i have so i can get right cam. Boat is in storage right now so may have to wait till spring to get serial number of block.
Will a gen 6 cam work in gen 5 block? i have seen cams listed that said gen 5/6 and some that have seperate part numbers for the two
