Dyno-Flo 572 shortblock
Is anyone familiar with Dyno-Flo racing engines ? They seem to have some good prices on Dart shortblock assemblies.

have used Scott and he did everything he said and even came in at his original qoutes ... no ups & no extras  good luck and give Scott a call 702-567--3035
Point being, with some of these shortblock packages, i dont see the benefit of building a shortblock based on a old block when making significant upgrades/changes. For someone wanting big CI engines, seems like the way to go when starting from scratch. IDK, i could be wrong. im sure there are benefits from having a good custom built shortblock from a reputable builder.. But in regards to dynoflo, i have read nothing but good things about them. |

The only problem I can see is the Eagle cranks. I have seen a couple Eagle cranks twisted in 540 stroker motors. It's not the HP that gets them it was the Torque under heavy load.

I have had good interaction, and some that was not so good.
There pricing is awesome. I have made some adjustments in how I deal with both them and the rest of the discount houses out there like Oho crank, shafiroff etc. Best way to proceed is to buy the hard parts, and then have the final machine work and assembly done by someone reputable and LOCAL to you. A good relationship with a good local builder is worth its weight in gold. A good recipie for what you are wanting to do is to maybe order your hard parts from them. Call Bob Madero for your cams and heads etc. And he might be able o point you in the right direction for some even better pricing or combinations. Good luck with your build. |

Dyno-Flo has attrative prices, Scott is a bright guy, but stick to buying the parts and not an assembled product. I have visited his warehouse twice, the shop is set up to move iron not assemble engines.

Not saying that they can't build a good engine, but I don't think they are implying to build a marine 572 with eagle cranks. Eagles stuff might be better now, this was 8-10 years ago. I would spin a 454 to 6500 with an Eagle crank before I would build a 572 with them. :drink:
