Flush Muffs for Bravo one Performance drives
 

Does anyone know where to get a set of flush muffs for the Bravo One Performance drive with the low water pickup? If so what is the "proper" procedure for flushing?

I use regular muffs and put a piece of tape over the low water pickup while flushing with the hose.

I got the flush kit for the LWP at the local Mercury shop. It's a bright orange rubber thingy with a bungi-cord on it. You just screw a hose into it and stretch it over your water pickup holes then turn on the hose and fire up the boat. Simple.

Oh yeah. The stupid little thing came in around $60. :eek:

Anyways, there was a board member that was selling a home made muff for the drive. I have one, and though it would be easy to make it, I know that he doesn't want his idea given away. I believe that he was selling them for 30 something. If you want, I'll see if I can dig up some contact info...

I have a Bravo One Performance drive with the low water pickup on my AT. You have a couple inexpensive options.

1. If you have a sea strainer, pull the lid off and stick a hhose in it and turn it on. This procedure was recommended by John Montgomery throttleman and mechanic for the bot Eriesistible. This is what I do and it works great!

2. Call Bob's machine shop 1-800-966-3493 or visit http://www.bobsmachine.com (look under the link for storeage boxes at the bottom of teh page) They sell the fluch kit for $24.95 I think.

Thanx for all the info. I think I am going to try the BoB's option. I only run freshwater, for now, but still would like to flush the engine every now and then.

I got my LWP flush kit from Mark at BAM. I Think it was around $50.00. It's real easy to use.

Sorry to revive an old thread...

I bought one of these and it doesn't work on my bravo with low water pickup. The nose cone flusher thing doesn't come near the water pickups. Perhaps I bought the wrong one? I'm going to call them Monday.
