Diesel Engines
 

i am looking to buy another boat in the near future for the family/over night trips between poker runs. I am looking at cruisers in the 45-50 foot range but my question is about diesel power. There are Cummins, Detroit, and Cat engines in different HP configurations. What are the plus and minus of each... How many hours could you expect before rebuilds, difference in maintenance/rebuild cost of each, how much of an effect does salt water have on that time? Thanks in advance!!
