Stupid question. How do you get, lets say a 90deg AN fitting to point a certain direction? I have a bulkhead steer fitting with 90's on both ends that I took apart and cant get to line up together...

Most any local A/C and heating supply store will have it. Unless you have over 50 fittings to seal the small tube is all you will need and makes it easier and neater to apply.

That's a good question. When I installed a system on my old boat, it seemed like I had to over tighten the fittings and they still were not lined up the way I wanted them to be.

Maybe the pros will chime in and give us the secret.

So on AN oil lines do you use dope and teflon tape? or just sealer?

I have a plumber friend that yells at me anytime I try and use teflon tape in a petroleum situation. He says most forms of non-teflon pipe dopes will work. He says just read the label!!! lol if it were only that easy. Keep in mind he works with this stuff daily!!!!! I found a product by permatech. Got it at an autoparts store. Similar to loctite 565. You used the wrong fittings. They make a solid and a swivel 90* fittings. They actually will move even when they are tightened. The swivel fitting are more costly, so what you can do is use one solid on one end and a swivel on the other to save cost. I use the swivel on all applications so there isn't any stress on either end. Any of the manufactures, Earls, Aeroquip, Russell all have them.
