PCM 555 Service manual and the 525efi
 

Does the Merc 525efi use the PCM 555?

I have Merc Service Manual #33 "PCM 555 Diagnostics". I used it back when I had a 496. It says the the manual covers the 496 Mag, 496HO and Horizon models. But no mention of the 525.

When I run Diacom there are seperate connection options for the PCM 555 and for the 525efi.

I'm wondering why that is if the 525 has the PCM 555. Are the error codes the same with the 525 and 496?

Does Mercury have a different manual for the 525 diagnostics?

The 525 motor does use the 555 PCM.

I don't know the answers to your other questions...but Dustin Whipple definately does as he builds custom programs for the 555 PCM.

Give him a call....he is a little difficult to get hold of...but is extremely helpful, and a great guy.
