EMI Exhaust conversion to dry
I see that EMI does not offer a dry exhaust riser and pipe. Has anyone converted their wet EMI offshore risers/pipes to dry?
Seems like it would be tricky business to weld on an inner extension pipe, while the outer would not be too tough. Would also have to seal the end and provide for an outlet bung. |
Do you already have the long risers? Call them, they may be able to modify or build from new. You will have to talk to the guys in the shop.

If my memory is correct they used to offer a dry tail. Dry tails / risers no longer show in their offerings, but they probably could/would do it. :) J

they still make them EMI-513 I believe is the part number, I know Diamond performance parts. com still has them. I've call Eddie marine and they said they still make them.

I wish I knew how they would work on my new boat, I feel like I want to try them. :evilb:

Yes, Emi still makes the dry exhaust, give us a call or email for a price.

I don't have my Cigarette any longer, but if I did, I would look into the dry pipes and mufflers. As long as I have been around boats, I am thoroghly convinced that exhaust and (sea)water should not be anyware near each other! Sooner or later it will cause a problem.
