Mercruiser 600 SCI Headers

Just purchased a pair of 600 SCI Mercruisers - re-chipped to 750hp)
What recommendations on the headers to use guys. Unfortunatley engines come without and yep as normal the ones we have wont fit.
Advice & suggestions?

Do the exhaust ports line up but not all the bolt holes?

If so, you could have a shop drill some extras. It's been done before. And if it will work, it's far cheaper than buying more.

Call, CMI and order a set of the new GEN X version Sporttube headers drilled for the Mercury Racing exhaust bolt pattern. Should look and work just great and give the engine its original look!

The problem is space... If we use the Gen "X" headers and we use the standard ones on the for and aft engines? or do we have to go for custom made on the forward engine?

As I said space is the issue here as well as cost, at the moment we only have 1/2 inch between the header and a 45 gal fuel tank and dont want to be boiling fuel when it costs $11.50 a gal in the UK

Also Stainless marine make a cast manifold does anyone know if they fit a 600 SCI

Thanks
Martin

Stainless Marine has a neat kit to drill your heads for regular headers.

Thanks Steve, but to be honest I dont want to go down the route of drilling the heads I would only mess it up.. would prefer to get something that fits
