454/502 MPI MAG crossover?

I've seen them like these:

Who else makes them & are they worth it? I've never had a boat with a crossover & since I sold my Whipples this winter I'm thinking of getting some more power elsewhere along with gaining some relaibility, but not for $1200 for a few HP.
I've already got aluminum heads, Dana exhaust & a cam with a decent lift .598/.610 so I'm just curious as what else to do for fun.
Should I just take the veins off the impeller instead?

i put the same units on my 540's. They really clean the front of the engine up. Gained a little power. Main reason i used them was the factory C-pumps would leak after buzzing them up constantly to 5500 RPM. I thought i paid under $500 for each. I reused my original pulleys.

I used the ones from eddie marine, w/bypass and therm, without will run to cold

I think I can add some light here to all of the questions above. First the gentleman with the HP series engine was able to use his original pulley on this unit http://www.keitheickert.com/p-15754-...sover-kit.aspx which is why his kit was less money. The MAG motors have a different bolt pattern than the hub which means they require a unique pulley to accomplish this. And the Gentleman withe EDM part doesn't have a serpentine pulley on his crossover as they don't build one to date.

Best Regards

What are you going to do with your 90+ stickers? Your going to be running in my speed range now. :drink: I use the EMI's, with bypass hose.

I just noticed you have the cerpentine belt, that gets a little more pricey.

I guess I'll have to get some "retired" ones.
I'm confident that the boat will still run in the low to mid 80's.

I would just run circ pumps. Crossovers are only worth about 5-10hp at most.

Thanks Griff. That is what Ben & I were thinking too. Just not worth the $1200 for a few HP that I'll never "see" anyway.
They are pretty though! Although chrome won't get you home it still looks as good on a broken engine as it does on a working one.
