500 EFI lifters?
Guys,
can I use 502 Mag Mpi lifters in a HP 500 EFI ?What`s the difference. Needs 8 if I cant use the 502`s. Thanks. |
I don't think so, and I wouldn't try. The 500EFI lifters are Crane's and the 502MPI lifters are GM. I think the Cranes are designed for higher lift cams. I would go with Morels or Isky's.

The stock 502 lifter would drop too far into the dogbone retainer at base circle which could possibly lift the retainer on the lift and cause some (a lot) grief.
The Cranes have extended bodies to eliminate this... |
Yes I know the 502 are GMs,and the 500 efi are Cranes,6 of the Cranes is worn out in the botom scirt around the roller, only 80 hours,it looks bad, no more Crane lifters here, anybody got a set of Isky or Morels for sale.

If you are wearing out roller lifters you may have other problems. Damaged lifter bores, oiling issue, or some other problem. I use the Morals, the machining is very good, they are a work of art. Give Bob RMbuilder a call, he can get you the lifters and in turn he will give you some great advice.
