525SC Carb jetting

Cleaned my carb the other day, and noticed the jets were 102 on all 4 corners. Not real familiar with these motors but that just seemed a tad big. Boat runs real good, and never had a prob, other than it does seem to always be real thirsty. Just was curious what size jets is normal in these motors.

Stock jets are supposed to be 98's in all 4 corners and even those are on the rich side. Unless its modified, I would drop down to 98's or lower to even maybe 96's up front. I have plenty of 98's since I increased the jetting in my old 525SC because of a cam and more boost. $10 for 4 #98 jets to cover my time and postage and they are yours.

the motor is stock other than being .020 over, it was rebuilt 2 years ago and has 72 hours on the motor.

With the new fuel mix out there, it would probably be in your best interest to check the plugs. Mine was experiencing high EGT's at WOT last summer that I atributed to the fuel. I think I don't want any more jet, but might invest in a methanol injection kit. Currently running 98's all around.
