Best Prices for OEM manifolds
I really wanted to go the Revolution Marine manifold direction but found out today that they are no longer in business. Since I don't want to pay more than $1000 for a set of manifolds and risers, and since the OEM Mercruiser parts seem to have the highest quality I guess that's where I need to go.
Who offers a complete manifold/riser kit for the best price? Suggestions? |
Look for a set of slightly used 496HO take off manifolds. Maybe Raylar has some.
They are much better than the cast iron stuff and will cost you less. The shipping on stock iron manifolds would kill you. |
I've considered that and its certainly an option. I think I read elsewhere that the fit and work great but usually require some fabrication or creative engineering to install the various accessories (shift components, oil filter, PS, etc.). Can anyone comment on that?

Didn't like the way the original 496 oil filter bracket was anyway. being upside down and all. http://www.supernova19.com/9b9f4770.jpg |
I'm open to most options but don't want to go too crazy. Motor is a stock 454 Magnum EFI. The stock 496 units are appealing as long as I can do the install without spending 3 weeks doing fabrication. I can live with stock manifolds.

I have a used set in great condition off a 496HO. I put Lighting headers on it and sold the boat but still have the stock manifolds. PM me for a deal.
The 496 units are much lighter and flow better. |
